Often described as a hybrid between Twitter and Facebook, Sina Weibo is China’s largest microblogging service with over half a billion registered accounts. It allows users to post messages up to 140 characters long (now increased to 280), share pictures/videos/music, etc., comment/like/reshare others’ posts – basically everything you can do on Twitter except retweeting someone else’s tweet directly without adding any comment.
